SamanConnect legal information

What SamanConnect stores in your browser, why it is needed and how to manage your choices.

Last updated: 18 August 2026

1. Our current approach

SamanConnect currently uses browser storage that is necessary for secure account and workspace functions. Optional analytics are disabled. We do not use a consent banner to disguise optional tracking as necessary storage.

2. Necessary authentication and security cookies

NamePurposeTypical duration
__Host-samanconnect_sessionMaintains the protected signed-in Portal session after identity verification.Up to the configured session period; currently designed around a 1-day default.
__Host-samanconnect_csrfShort-lived anti-forgery protection used during sensitive session and workspace requests.Short-lived; approximately 10 minutes when issued for session creation.
__Host-samanconnect_workspaceRemembers the workspace you selected after membership has been verified.Up to the configured session period.

In local development the same cookies may appear without the __Host- prefix. Production cookies are designed to use secure host-only settings.

3. Cookie preference record

SamanConnect stores sc_cookie_preferences_v1 in localStorage to remember your privacy choice. It records that necessary storage is enabled and optional analytics are disabled. This avoids showing the same privacy notice on every page.

4. Sign-in providers

When you choose an identity method such as Google sign-in, the identity provider may use its own cookies or storage to complete authentication. Those technologies are controlled by the provider and are subject to its privacy information. SamanConnect uses the resulting verified identity to establish its own protected Portal session.

5. Optional analytics

No optional analytics package is enabled in the current Portal. If SamanConnect later introduces analytics, advertising or another non-essential tracking technology, the relevant category must remain off until an appropriate consent choice has been presented where required by law.

6. Your choices

You can review SamanConnect preferences on the Cookie settings page. You can also delete cookies and localStorage through your browser. Removing necessary authentication cookies will sign you out or require you to select your workspace again.

7. Legal basis for browser storage

Necessary storage is used because it is required to provide secure functionality that you request, such as authentication and protected workspace access. Non-essential storage is treated separately and, where consent is required, should not be activated before valid consent is obtained.
